“A Concept in Motion” a series of vibrant new mixed media works by acclaimed New York artist Steven Colucci was held at a reception for the artist at Orley Shabahang, the renowned Persian Rug Gallery & Showroom on Thursday February 9, 2012 from 6 pm to 9:30 pm.  We have a Persian rug and it always nice to see the different styles.

Fasolino International Foods, Wines & Spirits was a primary sponsor. passed Mark Fahrer Caterers offered interesting signature cocktails and deluxe hors oeuvre’s treats based on the Fasolino product lines which range from pastas to select wines to a new spirit labeled “Intrigue”.

It was nice to see socialites like Tia Walker, Gerard Mc Keon and others who spent their time despite the opening of Fashion Week.

The evening benefited American Friends of Herzog Hospital. Herzog Hospital is world class medical and research center that addresses for the treatment of neurological disorders,  geriatric rehabilitation/ occupational therapy, chronic respiratory care,complex nursing for older adults for sustained support and dialysis, mental health care, psychotrauma treatment and medical research. The proceeds of the event can help provide towards another 240 beds under construction.
 
A true Renaissance Man acclaimed painter Colucci is equally renowned as a dancer, choreographer, designer and director and has performed on stages around the world collaborating with the likes of Marcel Marceau, Joe Papp,  New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Polish Mime Ballet and Julio Iglesias to name a few. 
 
Colucci, who divides his time between Westhampton Beach and Manhattan, has exhibited his neo-impressionist works at such prestigious venues as MOMA, Mark Hachem Gallery on Madison Avenue, The National Arts Club, Belenky Gallery and Grant Gallery in SoHo. His works are in numerous private collections around the world.
 
Colucci, passionate about the need to support research and care for Alzheimer’s disease, will contribute a portion of the proceeds from this sale to American Friends of Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem. Fasolino International Foods, Wines & Spirits is a primary sponsor. Colucci will also show with special receptions at the Belenky Gallery, 91 Grand Street on Friday February 10 and Friday February 17.
